Grand Quest Industries — www.gqind.com & the GQI Product Configurator
This Privacy Policy describes how Grand Quest Industries LLC, d/b/a GQI ("GQI," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, discloses, and protects information when you visit our websites at www.gqind.com and configurator.gqind.com (together, the "Sites"), communicate with us, request quotations, use our online tools, or otherwise do business with us. It also describes the choices and rights you may have with respect to your information. By using the Sites, you acknowledge the practices described in this Policy.
The Sites are business-to-business resources intended for professionals in industrial materials handling and processing. Most of the personal information we handle is business contact information provided in a professional capacity.
Information you provide directly. We collect information you choose to give us, including:
Information collected automatically. When you visit the Sites, we and our hosting providers may automatically receive standard technical information, such as your IP address, general geographic region, browser type and version, operating system, device type, referring pages, pages viewed, links clicked, and the dates and times of access. This information is used in aggregate to operate, secure, and improve the Sites.
Information from other sources. We may receive information about you from our manufacturing partners (for example, when a partner refers an inquiry in our territory), from freight and logistics providers in connection with a shipment, from publicly available business directories, or from your colleagues in connection with a shared project or order.
We use the information we collect for the following business purposes:
Legal bases (EEA, UK, and similar jurisdictions). Where laws such as the EU or UK General Data Protection Regulation apply, we process personal data on the following legal bases: performance of a contract or steps taken at your request before entering a contract (quotations, orders, service); our legitimate interests in operating and promoting a business-to-business enterprise, securing our Sites, and maintaining business records, balanced against your rights; your consent, where required (which you may withdraw at any time); and compliance with legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing purposes. We disclose information only in the following circumstances:
Certain features of the Sites collect information through online forms rather than by email — currently the contact form on www.gqind.com and the submission step of the product configurator at configurator.gqind.com.
How these submissions are handled. The Sites are static websites served by a third-party hosting provider (currently Netlify). When you submit a form or complete a configuration, the information you entered is transmitted to and stored by that hosting provider acting as our service provider, and we are notified of the submission by email at sales@gqind.com. We may also send a confirmation of receipt to the email address you provide. We may also copy submissions into GQI's own business document storage so that quotations and project records are kept together. Our hosting provider processes this information only to provide the form and hosting services to us, under its own contractual and legal obligations; it does not use your submission for its own purposes, and we do not authorize it to do so.
What we collect through these forms. Your name, company, email address, telephone number, the content of your message or the configuration you built (including selected options, specifications, and the product code and provisional part number generated by the tool), and standard technical information such as the date, time, and originating IP address of the submission, which the hosting provider records for security and spam prevention.
Why we collect it. To respond to your request, prepare quotations and proposals, engineer and specify equipment for your application, and keep the business records associated with that work. We do not use configurator submissions to build advertising profiles, and we do not sell them. If you have asked to receive newsletters or product updates, we use your contact details for that purpose as well, and you may unsubscribe at any time.
Retention of submissions. Submissions are retained in the hosting provider's form store while they are operationally useful and are removed from it periodically once transferred into our own records; the resulting quotation and project records are then kept under the schedule described in Data Retention below. You may ask us to delete a submission that has not become part of an active quotation, order, or legal record by contacting us at the address at the end of this Policy.
Please do not submit sensitive information. These forms are intended for business and technical information. Do not submit government identification numbers, financial account or payment-card details, health information, or other sensitive personal information through them, and do not submit third-party confidential information you are not authorized to share. The configurator's Terms of Use address the use of information submitted through that tool and are intended to be read consistently with this Policy; if the two ever conflict on how submitted information is handled, this Policy governs.
GQI does not set advertising cookies, cross-site tracking pixels, or social-media trackers on the Sites. The cookies and browser storage we use ourselves are limited to what is necessary for basic operation — for example, storage that saves your in-progress product-configurator selections as a draft in your own browser, retained on your device for up to 30 days and removable at any time by clearing your browser storage.
Embedded third-party content. Our contact page embeds a Google Maps frame showing our location. When that page loads, Google receives your IP address and may set cookies or use similar storage under its own privacy policy, over which we have no control. If you prefer not to load it, you can block third-party cookies or scripts in your browser; the rest of the page, including all contact details, works normally without it. Aside from this map embed, the only analytics we use are server-side traffic statistics provided by our hosting provider. These are compiled by the provider from ordinary server request logs — the same information described under “Information We Collect” above — rather than by any script, cookie, or identifier placed on your device, and they are reported to us only in aggregate: page view counts, approximate visitor counts, general geographic regions, referring sites, and requests that returned errors. They do not identify individual visitors and are not used for advertising or cross-site tracking. Together with the security and spam-prevention records our hosting provider keeps for form submissions, that is the extent of it: we deploy no other analytics or similar tools, and if we adopt any in the future we will update this Policy to identify them and, where required, provide any legally required notice or consent mechanism.
You can set your browser to refuse cookies, delete stored data, or alert you when cookies are being set; the core pages of the Sites will continue to work, though some tools may not retain your inputs. Because we do not engage in cross-site tracking, there is currently nothing for "Do Not Track" or Global Privacy Control signals to opt you out of; to the extent such signals apply to us under applicable law, we honor them.
The Sites are operated from the United States, and information we collect is processed and stored in the United States, where data-protection laws may differ from — and may be less protective than — those of your jurisdiction. In addition, when your inquiry or order involves one of our international manufacturing partners, relevant business contact and project information may be transferred to that partner in its home country (currently including countries in the European Union and Switzerland). By using the Sites or providing information to us, you understand that your information will be handled as described in this Policy. Where required by applicable law, we rely on appropriate safeguards for such transfers, such as the recipient's compliance obligations under its own applicable data-protection law and contractual confidentiality commitments.
We keep personal information only as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described in this Policy, and then delete or de-identify it in the ordinary course. Form and configurator submissions are additionally subject to the retention practice described under Website Forms & Configurator Submissions above. In deciding how long to keep information, we consider: the duration of our business relationship with you or your company; our legal, tax, accounting, warranty, and product-documentation obligations (records relating to equipment we supply may be retained for the service life of the equipment); the period during which legal claims could be brought; and whether the information remains necessary for security or fraud-prevention purposes.
We take commercially reasonable administrative, technical, and physical measures designed to protect personal information against loss, theft, misuse, and unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction. These measures include access controls limiting information to personnel who need it, use of reputable hosting providers with industry-standard protections, encryption of the Sites in transit (HTTPS), and retention limits. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If we become aware of a breach affecting your personal information, we will notify you and applicable regulators as required by law.
Marketing. You may unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time using the link in any message or by contacting us at the address below. We will continue to send non-marketing communications related to active quotations, orders, and service.
Access, correction, and deletion. Depending on where you live, you may have rights under applicable privacy laws — including state privacy laws in California, Colorado, Connecticut, Texas, Virginia, and other states, or the GDPR/UK GDPR — to request access to the personal information we hold about you, to receive a copy of it, to correct inaccuracies, to request deletion, to object to or restrict certain processing, or to withdraw consent you have given. Some of these laws apply only to businesses above certain size or revenue thresholds, and GQI may fall below them; as a matter of policy, however, we will honor reasonable requests to access, correct, or delete your personal information regardless of whether a particular statute technically applies, except where we need to retain information for legitimate business or legal purposes (such as warranty records, tax records, or dispute resolution).
How to submit a request. Send your request to sales@gqind.com or by mail to the address below, with enough information for us to verify your identity — typically your name, company, and the email address you used with us. We may ask follow-up questions to verify that the request is genuine before acting on it, and we will respond within the time required by applicable law (or, where no statute applies, within a commercially reasonable period). We will not discriminate against you for exercising any privacy right. If you are located in the EEA or UK, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.
Authorized agents. Where applicable law permits, you may designate an authorized agent to make a request on your behalf; we may require proof of the agent's authorization and verification of your identity.
The Sites are business-to-business resources and are not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, and we do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of anyone under 16. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
The Sites contain links to websites operated by others, including our manufacturing partners. This Policy does not apply to those websites, and we are not responsible for their content or privacy practices. We encourage you to review the privacy policy of any site you visit.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, or legal requirements. The "Last Updated" date above reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be posted on this page, and where required by law we will provide additional notice. Your continued use of the Sites after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.
