General terms
FIBCFlexible Intermediate Bulk Container: a "bulk bag" or "super sack".
SWLSafe Working Load: the maximum rated fill weight.
Safety factor (SF)Break load ÷ SWL: 5:1 single-trip, 6:1 multi-trip (UN / food).
SpoutTubular fabric inlet (top) or outlet (bottom) for filling / discharging.
TareWeight of the empty bag.
LinerInner bag (PE or barrier film) for moisture / contamination protection.
PBDPropagating brush discharge: the energetic static discharge that Type B / C / D fabrics prevent.
GSM / denierFabric weight (grams per m²) and yarn thickness: they set strength & permeability.
FIBC types

Common FIBC types include: Duffle Top, Baffle Bag (Q-Bag), U-Panel, 4-Panel, Circular / Tubular, Full Open.

Duffle topWide fabric skirt that ties closed over the fill opening: covers the full bag width.
Baffle bag (Q-bag)Internal corner baffles hold a square shape when filled: more cube fill & tighter stacking. Also called form-stable.
U-panelBody from one U-shaped piece (two sides + base) + two end panels: the most common, cost-effective construction.
4-panelBody from four side panels + a base; holds a squarer shape for heavier / denser loads.
Circular / tubularSeamless woven-tube body (no side seams), stitched only at the top & base; favored for food-grade & fine powders.
Full openA top or bottom that opens completely: full-open top for fast filling; full-open (drop) bottom to dump non-flowing product at once.
Static-control sub-types (electrostatic)
TypeUse
Type APlain woven PP, no static protection. Only non-flammable products in non-flammable atmospheres.
Type BLow breakdown-voltage fabric (prevents propagating brush discharges). No grounding; not for flammable atmospheres.
Type CConductive / groundable: must be bonded & earthed. For combustible dusts / flammable atmospheres.
Type DAntistatic / dissipative: dissipates charge without grounding. For combustible dusts / flammable atmospheres.
Loop type
Lifting loops (standard)Four corner loops sewn at the corners, standing upright: the default lift.
Cross-cornerLoops sewn diagonally across the corners; fold flat and self-open under a fork.
Stevedore / single loopOne or two central loops for crane / hook lifting.
Sleeve (hood) liftFabric sleeve in place of loops; a lifting bar passes through.
FIBC optional features
UN-certifiedTested & marked for shipping hazardous (dangerous-goods) materials.
Document pouchSewn-on sleeve that holds paperwork / labels.
VentilatedBreathable fabric or mesh stripes for products that must "breathe" (e.g. produce, firewood).
Coated (vs uncoated)A PP laminate that lowers permeability to fines / moisture, vs bare woven PP.
Petal / dust coverFabric flap that protects and ties over a spout.
Drop bottom (full open)Base that opens completely to dump non-flowing product at once.
Conical bottomCone-shaped base that channels dense or sticky product to the spout.
Tie closureDrawstring tie that seals a spout.
Iris closureIris valve that seals the discharge spout.
Reinforced lifting loopsExtra-strength or extended loops for a higher SWL or specific lifting gear.
